Earlier this year, we completed an exciting project for the new Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe. The purpose built venue is situated on the city’s beautiful harbour and provides 25,000 square metres of pavilion style floor space whilst the city awaits the redevelopment of the Darling Harbour site. We had the pleasure of designing a complete engineered solution for their very first event and one of the biggest exhibitions of the year; the Reed Gift and Homeware Exhibition. Catering for 2,000 exhibitors and 59,000 attendees annually between its four fairs, this debut for the venue was vitally important to maintain Sydney’s reputation as a first class destination for large scale exhibitions and conventions.
Supplying the correct temperature control and power management to a critical event like this can really make all the difference to its success, but with our wealth of experience in the events industry servicing such a vast venue comes second nature to us.
Our tailor made first class system allowed the exhibition to run seamlessly, providing the venue with the comfort of 9 megawatts of cooling, meeting the exact requirements of our client. To achieve this we supplied and fitted 8 kilometres of fabric ducting and 12 kilometres of rigging cable throughout the new exhibition centre. Alongside this, the installation provided not only the air conditioning but 15,750 kilo volt amps of generators too and their accompanying 25 kilometres of electrical cable. Our expertise in the power rental industry alongside air conditioning allows us to create an entire solution for the client’s temperature and power needs from one supplier.
Once the installation was complete, we were able to monitor the performance of the units remotely, enabling the exhibition to run flawlessly. Using unique cutting edge technology like this allows us to discreetly oversee the complex system and provides the client with complete peace of mind, leaving them to take care of the guests.
In our forty years of experience, we have provided temporary air conditioning to some of the largest events ever to be hosted in the Asia Pacific region. We are proud to be leaders in our field, but to service such an important event for Sydney was a real honour. We were pleased to see that the first exhibition was such a triumph and look forward to its continued success.
